San Jose and Central Valley Luxury Holidays & Tours

a land of jagged peaks, undulating hills and fiery volcanoes

Nestled in a land of jagged peaks, undulating hills, and fiery volcanoes, Costa Rica's San Jose is an essential part of your Costa Rican adventure. You’ll find historic neighbourhoods and modern galleries and, out in the Central Valley, misty cloud forests teeming with life.

San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and the perfect introduction to the country. The city merges the old and the new with an eclectic mix of modern structures, old colonial homes, and stately public buildings such as the Plaza de la Cultura and Teatro Nacional. There are also a handful of superb museums for those interested in unravelling the region’s culture and history.

Surrounding San Jose are the rolling hills of the Central Valley where you’ll find coffee plantations, traditional villages, and, in the distance, towering mountains and volcanoes. There are numerous activities to be had, from fascinating tours of local coffee plantations to long, carefree strolls through the classic countryside scenery. If your interests lie in more thrilling pursuits, you can even try white water rafting along the rushing river rapids.

The Central Valley is also a rewarding place for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, offering access to wildlife-rich national parks and tracts of rain and cloud forests packed with birds, butterflies, and plants.
