Take this 13-day journey through the breath-taking and relatively undiscovered landscapes of Namibia and experience the dunes of the Namib Desert, the arid Serra Cafema, Damaraland and the famed Skeleton Coast and the teaming Etosha National Park.
Begin by flying to Sossusvlei to see the beautiful Tsaris Mountains, vleis, staggering red dunes and flat plains of the Namib Naukluft National Park, where springbok and jackal roam. Continue on to the rocky and arid landscapes of the Serra Cafema where the only permanent source of water is the Kunene River and where the nomadic Himba people continue their traditional way of life surrounded by flat topographies, numerous species of reptile and only the occasional shrub.
Next, fly to the beautiful region of Damaraland where there are zebra, giraffe, cheetah and birdlife aplenty, despite its proximity to the Skeleton Coast and the Namib desert. Take another light aircraft from here to Etosha, a vast expanse of game-rich savannah and saltpan, where you can easily go in search of lion, zebra, leopard, elephant and giraffe in all seasons. The Ondundozonanandana Range in the Ongava Game Reserve provides relief to the otherwise flat surroundings and harbour populations of the endemic Anchieta's dwarf python, striped tree squirrel and a localised subspecies of rock hyrax. The reserve also has a healthy population of both black and white rhino. Finish off by flying back to London via Windhoek and Johannesburg.
