Day 1-5 London - Dubai - Tanzania Coast
London - Dubai - Tanzania Coast

Your journey through Tanzania begins on the blissful Indian Ocean coast. Arriving in Dar es Salaam, you will be met by a guide who will privately transfer you to your coastal hideaway set on a crescent of undeveloped, white sandy beach. Whilst still being within easy reach of the bustling city, you’ll feel as though you have this patch of undisturbed coast all to yourself.

When you’re not enjoying the soft sands and ocean views you can go swimming and boogie boarding directly off the beach. The lodge also provides snorkelling equipment for those looking to meet the colourful fish, dolphins and turtles beneath the waves. Kayaking on the freshwater lagoon is also on offer, whilst the tropical coastal forest behind the lodge supports over 130 different animal species including the spectacular black-and-white colobus monkey.

Stay: Four nights in a cottage at Ras Kutani – full board

Day 6-8 Selous Game Reserve
Selous Game Reserve

You now board a scheduled light aircraft flight to the Selous. You’ll be staying at the heart of this vast, game-rich reserve, at a lodge superbly situated on the shores of Lake Nzerakera adjoining the Great Rufiji River.

One of the country’s largest protected areas, the Selous encompasses a wide range of habitats, from grassy plains to open woodland, that together support elephant, giraffe, antelope, crocodile, hippo, wild dog and a huge population of buffalo and lion. Birdwatchers can also expect to find over 400 different species, from herons to colourful water birds.

But what really makes the reserve so special are the wide range of activities on offer. Boating safaris, game drives, bush walks and fly-camping are just a handful of the experiences on the menu.

Stay: Three nights in a double tent at Siwandu – full board

Day 9-12 Ruaha National Park
Ruaha National Park

You now depart one great wilderness to discover another. A light aircraft brings you to Ruaha National Park, an untrammeled region that offers its few visitors a truly authentic safari experience.

The dramatic landscape – encompassing rolling hills, open plains, baobabs groves and the Great Ruaha River – provide the backdrop to huge elephant herds and lion prides as well as buffalo, zebra, roan antelope, kudu, leopard, cheetah and the rare striped hyena. Hundreds of different bird varieties also make their home here. Your camp is situated within easy reach of the park’s wildlife hot spots, so you can expect excellent, up-close encounters on both game drives and guided bush walks.

Stay: Four nights in an open fronted suite at Ikuka Safari Camp – full board

Day 13 Ruaha - Dar es Salaam - London

Today you will catch a light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam. From Dar es Salaam you will board your international flight back to London (via Dubai).
