Perpetual mist, noise and rainbows all add to the sight of one of the largest curtains of falling water on earth. But the falls are not the only breath-taking scenes to be found in Zimbabwe. In Hwange National Park, for example, you can take a safari to see buffalo, giraffe, zebra and all sorts of antelope – as well as the predators that stalk them. Somalisa is the place to stay, especially if you love elephants; they have a particular passion for the camp’s swimming pool!
In remote Mana Pools you’ll be introduced to wild forests, glittering oxbow lakes and expansive pools that – alongside the Zambezi River – provide a lush habitat for elephant, kudu, lion, wild dog and spotted hyena. Bush walks, canoe safaris and tiger fishing are all on the menu in this pristine wetland habitat, as well as spectacular birding.
