Close to the white sand beaches and clear blue waters of Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp offers a genuine bush experience in African-inspired safari tents.

Though just a couple of hours south of Sydney, this family-operated camp feels worlds away from any concrete jungle. Inspired by a trip to Africa, the 12 canvas guest tents are raised on sturdy timber platforms among interesting paperbark and eucalyptus trees. Each features a wraparound veranda and an outdoor ensuite - perfect for bird-watching while you unwind under a steaming hot shower. Striving to offer an eco-friendly bush experience, the lighting is solar-powered and the hot water is heated on demand by natural gas.

On the unspoilt south coast of NSW, Jervis Bay is a nature lover’s paradise with spectacular coastal scenery, calm waters for swimming and pristine white sand beaches for strolling and relaxing on. The property has some easy walking trails that meander through paperbark, gum and mangrove forests, and complimentary bikes and canoes for guests to enjoy. The Gunyah (an Aboriginal word meaning ‘meeting place’) is the social heart of the camp and home to the restaurant, bar and lounge. Menus change with the seasons, but always feature fresh local produce.
