Cast your eyes around the sumptuous lobby and you’ll soon understand why. The Hotel Alfonso XIII was built in 1928, in an era known for its elegance, style and sophisticated design. And the architecture does not disappoint.

Created in the Mudéjar style, the hotel is a symphony of sweeping arches that soar above geometric patterned floors. A forest of columns feature highly decorative brickwork. There are ceramic finials and intricate, ornamental towers to delight the eye. Plus murals that wouldn’t disgrace a Renaissance church and wrought ironwork that draws on Art Deco for its inspiration.

The levels of comfort and meticulous service match the visual majesty of the Alfonso –the past 85 years have given the hotel its own confidence; and a jaunty, chic ambiance.
