Your exclusive family safari to Kenya begins with a camel ride across the African bush to see elephants, lions and leopards, giraffe and zebras. You’ll go on game drives and horse riding treks and you’ll take the family to see the mighty Masai Mara – famed across the world for its stupendous wildebeest migration and the quality of its wildlife viewing. Then it’s time to chill out on a pristine Indian Ocean beach, go snorkeling, diving, wind surfing, whale watching…
From Nairobi, take a light aircraft flight to Northen Kenya. You’ll be driven from the landing strip at Loisaba to a ranch set amidst the vastness of the Laikipia region. Here you can cool off with a swim before plunging into a host of exciting adventures. The family can ride camels across the bush or go on horseback safaris to spot giraffe, zebras, antelopes, elephants and even lion and leopards.
You’ll be invited on cultural visits – especially interesting for the kids to discover how other children live – and enjoy picnics and barbecues. Game drives are always thrilling, especially so at night when you can see a range of wild nocturnal creatures. Bird lovers are also in for a treat – there are over 180 different species living locally.
Stay: Four nights in a double and two twin rooms at Ole Malo House.
Now it’s time to fly off to one of the world’s most famous game regions – the Masai Mara. You’ll be staying in a bush home beside the 23,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy and the Masai Mara Game Reserve, overlooking a small thorn tree forest that attracts abundant game and exotic birds.
This is one of Africa’s greatest eco-systems so you can expect to see a huge variety of wild game, some of which comes right up to the door of the property. Your bush home is also on the route of the annual wildebeest migration so you can expect some outstanding wildlife observation during the seasonal trek.
You’ll set off on game drives with experienced and knowledgeable guides, as well as visiting local communities, trading centres and villages.
Stay: Three nights at Topi House.
After the heat and excitement of life on the Masai Mara it’s time to take to the coast for a few days of relaxation, great beaches, sun and the Indian Ocean. You’ll be able to chill out beside the pool, gaze at the ocean from your balcony, stroll along immaculate Diani Beach, go kite surfing or snorkelling and scuba diving over a beautiful coral reef.
There are two tennis courts and a golf course nearby, whilst trips include excursions to Wasini Island, whale and dolphin watching and deep sea fishing. A stay at Almanara Villas is the perfect way to finish an exclusive family holiday to Kenya.
