A bit about me

My passion for travel began when I left Morocco, my country of origin, to study in Montreal, Canada. During my studies I was able to travel widely throughout North America. On my return I spent some time in Spain, lived in France, and finally settled in London, where the opportunity to work in the travel industry arose – an obvious choice for me that has led to an exciting and rewarding career. I spent many years as a Morocco specialist, before expanding my portfolio to include a range of other amazing destinations; I have now travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, South and Central America.

My favourite place

My favourite destination is Brazil – a melting pot of cultures, sounds, sights, and flavours. It is this extraordinary diversity that makes this country so fascinating. If you love natural beauty, wildlife, vibrant cities, tropical beaches, warm, happy and glamorous people (and of course football), then you will easily share my love for this country.

My favourite hotel

Ponta dos Ganchos in Brazil – “sophistication without ostentation” – is one of the tag lines for this luxury hotel situated in the resort island of Florianopolis. The hotel’s name refers to its unrivalled position at the tip (“ponta”) of the island, surrounded by sea, and close to the historic fishing village once known as Ganchos. As the tag line suggests, this hotel is not about gold taps and gleaming marble; instead it exudes the effortless glamour synonymous with the good life in Brazil.

My most memorable experience

It’s hard to name just one as there have been so many! Getting up up close and personal with the wildlife in the Galapagos, snorkelling with nurse sharks in Belize, riding with the Gauchos in Argentina, cruising down the Nile Agatha Christie style, Jaguar spotting in the Pantanal in Brazil, and exploring the Copper Canyon by train; all moments that I like to share with my clients.

My top tips

  • Travel with an open mind
  • Try to learn a few key phrases from the local language
  • Try not to squeeze too much in; take time to enjoy and get to know the places you are visiting
  • Ladies, don’t spray Deet (insect repellent) on manicured nails!
  • Nabila has been outstanding. This was a surprise trip for my wife – who does all the holiday planning normally. Nabila listened to my requirements and held my hand every step of the way. Thank you.
