Brazil. Where life can be a carnival, or a party on a world famous beach, or the best start ever.

This honeymoon itinerary will present you with a store of shared memories that will last for years to come. You could, for example, take a boat to the foot of the dazzling Iguazu Falls and gaze in awe at the soaring cascade of crashing water. But you’re on honeymoon, so you might hire yourself a helicopter and fly over the Falls for a real once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You’ll also want to take full advantage of private excursions to Corcovado, and to the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, its monumental presence towering over Rio de Janeiro – one of the most vivacious cities in the whole of South America.

And then there is strolling along the world famous Copacabana Beach at sunset. An absolute must-do on your perfect honeymoon to Brazil.

Take your direct flight from London Heathrow to the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. You’ll arrive in the evening and be driven in a private car to your hotel – conveniently located on the world-renowned Ipanema beach.

Rio is an awe-inspiring city of contrasts – and the ultimate introduction to Brazil. You’ll find impossibly steep granite mountains, beautiful stretches of golden sand and old colonial buildings dotted around modern glass skyscrapers.

On your first tour you’ll visit the Corcovado Mountain – site of the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer – where you will have a stunning, uninterrupted view over the city. You will then get to explore at your own pace with a half day bike tour, taking in Rio’s vibrant street markets, atmospheric neighbourhoods and sun-drenched beaches. You’ll finish by taking a cable car up to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain – one of Brazil’s greatest landmarks.

Stay: Four nights in a superior first floor ocean front room at the Fasano Hotel

Day 4-5

Iguazu Falls

Next you fly to Iguazu where you’ll be met and privately transferred to the only hotel within the Brazilian National Park. The highlight of the region is, of course, the natural wonder that is the Iguazu Falls. This UNESCO World Heritage site is made up of a string of over 200 separate cataracts that together form a soaring cascade of crashing water over a horse-shoe shaped cliff – a truly mesmerising sight.

From your hotel you will be ideally located to explore the falls from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides. You’ll take a zodiac boat ride up to the base of the falls, followed by a tour of the surrounding rainforest, San Martin Island and the exhilarating Devil’s Throat. For something extra special, an optional helicopter tour will give you an unforgettable opportunity to view, and photograph, the falls from above.

Stay: Two nights in a deluxe cataratas falls view room at the Belmond Das Cataratas Hotel

Day 6-12

Santa Catarina

Today you will be privately transferred to the airport for your flight to Florianopolis, from where you will be driven one hour to your luxury hotel. Located on a private peninsula on Brazil’s southern coast, it’s a truly idyllic region of emerald sea, golden shores and lush forest. You can paddle across to tiny islands, go snorkelling, diving, canoeing and even sailing. What better way to end your luxury Brazil honeymoon.

On the final day you’ll be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight back to London via Sao Paolo.

Stay: Five nights in an Avoredo Bungalow at Ponta Dos Ganchos including daily breakfast, a bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne, one romantic dinner in the bungalow and a private island dinner.

  • I am notoriously difficult to please as my work colleagues and family will attest but I have to say that the organisation from your team was absolutely brilliant. From guides to drivers it was faultless.
