970 Lonely Bay Lodge, Coromandel

Overlooking its namesake, Lonely Bay, this luxurious boutique lodge sits next to the historic Shakespeare Reserve in the Coromandel – an area known for its pristine beaches and wide range of sporting and relaxation activities.

From here, it’s just a short walk to Cooks Beach, one of a string of stunning sandy beaches lining the Pacific Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The famous Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are a 10 minute drive away, whilst a short ferry ride will bring you to the seaside town of Whitianga. Wonderful hiking, swimming, fishing, diving, kayaking and snorkelling are right on the doorstep, making 970 Lonely Bay a fantastic base for experiencing the natural beauty of the region.

When not exploring the surrounding treasures, you can relax on one of the hotel’s many decks overlooking the gardens or retreat, book in hand, to the comfy living room or library. Accommodation includes just three beautifully designed one-bedroom suites and a premier two-bedroom suite, each with an ensuite bathroom, plush king bed and balcony with bush or water views. Breakfast is served daily, and for lunch and dinner you can take the two-minute ferry to Whitianga for a delicious meal.
