one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations
Used by the early explorers of Southern Africa, Meno a Kwena still offers an authentic safari in one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations.
Perched on a rocky clifftop above the Boteti River, the only permanent water source for miles, Meno a Kwena boasts some of Botswana’s finest ‘armchair’ game viewing. Each canvas tent enjoys magnificent views of the river and the animals that drink from it, as well as lovely bathrooms with authentic African showers. The camp has other look-out points, including a floating hide on the river where you can spy pied kingfishers and African jacanas. The lounge and dining tents are steeped in old world charm, piled high with books, trinkets and old-world artifacts.
Situated halfway between the lush Okavango Delta and the drier southern regions, Meno a Kwena is perfectly positioned for exploring both the Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Activities include early morning nature walks with San bushmen, exceptional 4×4 game drives and tranquil boat rides along the Boteti River where large herds of wildebeest and zebra, elephant, giraffe and antelope congregate. The natural rock plunge pool provides welcome respite between your safari adventures.
