Offbeat Mara, Masai Mara

An invitingly small, seasonal camp on the Mara North Conservancy – an exclusive patch of wilderness neighbouring the celebrated Masai Mara National Reserve.

Stay at Offbeat Mara on your luxury, tailor-made holiday and prepare to experience an authentic Kenyan safari. The camp enjoys a scenic riverside location within a vast private conservancy where, thanks to strict visitor and vehicle numbers, you can be sure of a crowd-free game viewing. Though wildlife is plentiful in the region year-round - including impressive big cat and plains game numbers - the annual wildebeest migration between July and October remains a major highlight.

Experienced and knowledgeable guides, the majority of whom hail from the local area, lead exciting bush walks and game drives in custom-built Land Cruisers. Hot air balloon safaris are great for seeing the bush from a different perspective, while bush picnics and insightful cultural visits to nearby villages can also be arranged. The camp itself feels wonderfully intimate, made up of just seven canvas tents furnished with large cedar beds and ensuite bathrooms. Private verandas are carefully positioned for the best bush views, and meals are served communally around a large table in the mess tent.
