CASCADING WATERFALLS
From Jasper you can explore the Icefields Parkway, the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls. Plus Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Jasper has all the charm and atmosphere of a small, rural town buried deep in the Alberta Rockies. But its greatest treasures lie in the surrounding countryside. Take a road tour towards Lake Louise and Banff and you pass a parade of astonishing vistas, including the chill beauty of the Icefields Parkway and the mighty Columbia Icefield.
Cascading waterfalls – like the Athabasca and the Pyramid Falls – delight the eye, whilst Jasper National Park presents another series of jaw-dropping photographic opportunities. You will see bears and wolves, ospreys, mountain sheep, moose, elk and deer. You can explore the wilderness on horseback, or enjoy rafting along the Athabasca River which is great for all ages. Trek through the Maligne Canyon, where the river cascades through a 165 foot canyon, or around the base of Mount Edith Cavell. Or you may prefer to follow the ‘Path of the Glacier’ to ice-tumbling Angel Glacier.
